And I think it should be his trademark, in all his performances from now on, so that in the future we'll look back on this timeless work and say, "Wait, it must have been filmed exactly between the years of 2005 and 2009, because at all other times in history it would have looked incredibly stupid to wear one of those!"
Good observation Brian. Obviously "Sam wears a bluetooth" wasn't in the script, but Chad brought one, so we took liberties.
To Lawrence's credit, he had to learn how to put it on for the shoot...but his character seems to have been born with it on, doesn't he? That's called acting!
It's all in the reflexes. I mean, E didn't know it, but I practiced crapping on his car the night before, even though I was supposed to play the other part until 2 minutes before filming, just to be a prepared as possible.
